I was excited when I got that message that Nayomi, my former colleague, would be moving to Washington, D.C. from Sri Lanka. I first met her when I traveled to Sri Lanka in March. Even more exciting was that she was in DC and we were going to visit with her! We had a great time showing her around the city -- only her second time in the U.S. It was interesting to see her perspective on the city and realize much of what she knew about Washington came from the movies! We are really looking forward to her move with her husband and hope to show her even more hospitality (as she did for me in Sri Lanka).Ema is about to move up to the big girl class at school! She will join her friends Carter and Zak! We are excited. For the first two weeks, she'll go in the mornings and then the true transition will begin. Ema is definitely ready for the change. She has been in her current classroom since she was 16 months! She's obviously changed a lot in that time period!
Nothing all that new our way -- we're ready to do some serious rain dancing. We are under water restrictions right now and the grass is looking brown! We are looking forward to some visits from our families in the next few weeks as Gage's dad will come down sometime during Labor Day weekend and my parents will be here the following weekend.
Enjoy our photos!
