Take a moment to remember what happened exactly six years ago today.
Wow, a lot has changed in that time. Six years ago, Gage and I were still living in San Antonio, not married and not even really together. And now we are going on our third anniversary, own our own beautiful house and have a gorgeous daughter who is now 23 months old! Makes you wonder what the next six years will hold for us!
We had a welcomed slow weekend, although we did see Xon earn his yellow belt and spent some time with Kat and Kenzie (John was at the Nascar race with Ernest). Ema and Kenzie are both growing up quickly. They seem to really enjoy their time together. They definitely feed off each other in what they do! There are photos from the weekend in our online album.
We are beginning to prepare for Ema's second birthday. It's amazing she is almost 2! She is talking like crazy and growing up by the minute. Her language skills are amazing right now as she really strings together sentences with ease. This morning she wanted a bandaid on her hand. Deciding she no longer wanted it, she told me, "I don't like it." Ema really likes to sing. She'll sing the "Mommy Song" where she will sing "Mommy" over and over again changing her tone and cadence. She'll then do the "Daddy Song" or "Blankie Song" and sometimes she'll try to sing the them to Dora the Explorer (or her version of it). Ema's very into her baby dolls right now, strolling them around the house in their stroller. She also wants to sleep with all four dolls! And, Ema has developed an appreciation for beef. She can't get enough of it!
You can always read Gage's accounts of Ema on the weekly blog he does for Richmond Magazine. He also writes about sports issues.
Take care.
