Doctor update at 2

Well, we went to the doctor for Ema's 2 year well visit this afternoon (a few weeks early). All good news.

Ema is now 32 -1/2 inches (10th - 20th percentile). The doctor expects she'll be around 5-feet-5 inches as an adult (a little taller than me).

Her weight was 23 pounds, 13 ounces (again the 10th-20th percentile). And her head remains in the 75th percentile!

She had her Hep A booster and there were some tears shed, but she was happy with the silver star bandaid placed on it. She did tell me, "It hurts, Mommy."

We also had to have a blood test done to again check her lead levels. Again, tears shed but a Dora bandaid solved that. However, the bandaid did make it difficult to suck her fingers as it was on one of those key fingers. So we had to take it off and put a Dora bandaid on a non-key finger.

Interesting note....while talking to the doctor (not our usual pediatrician, but another we like), Gage called my cell phone. It rang in with the Indiana Univ. fight song. He was looking at it and said," What's that?" I explained it was just my husband calling. He then said, "No, the song." I explained it was my alma mater's fight song. He asked the school and I told him. Turns out, his parents both went to IU and he went to elementary school in Bloomington, so the song was very familiar. He just couldn't remember which Big Ten school it belonged to. Eventually he went to Notre Dame (pretty much the same time I was at IU) and then Univeristy of Illinois. We had to briefly discuss the fact that IU football is 3-0 and ND is 0-3....wow. What is going on in college football? Of course, that could seeon change as the Hoosiers head into Big Ten play!

Another big note for Ema....she slept in a "big girl" bed last night (photo--notice the cup in bed with her)! Ronin kindly lent (OK, it took some persuasion) her Dora the Explorer toddler bed. Ema slept in it all night last night (of course, the bed was in our room). Only once did we move her so she wouldn't fall out. Yay, Ema!
