Family Time

Ema has been spending extra special time with her cousins, who are visiting from Thailand. Even though it's been two years since we have all been together, everything fell right into place. Ema is enjoying her time - to the point of exhaustion for everyone! The time together is precious and we can sleep and nap later. All the cousins have been together -- all seven of them, and soon to be eight -- and it's entertaining to see the interactions, how the break off by groups (sometimes by gender, sometimes by age, sometimes random). There's no question they all love each other. The older cousins, the parents, are also enjoying the time together. And Gage especially enjoyed spending time with his brothers. The three haven't been together in four years and it was long overdue for them just to spend time....and mostly spend time eating. How can three people put down 100 clams? Just ask this trio! I hope they are able to continue spending time together in the years to come. It's important for Gage to be with his brothers and he said he feels closer to them each time he visits with them. Ema has enjoyed Uncle Andrew, who is visiting from London and could move to NYC soon. In fact, she really didn't want to share him with anyone else!

Amidst all this excitement, Ema started her new school on Monday. It was just time for a change. We were unhappy with the direction her previous school was heading and this opportunity fell into our lap. On top of that, Ema is in the same class with her friend Carter. The two girls have been in school together for this past two years. The new schools offers music and art classes in their own classrooms, a lunch room (this is the highlight if you ask Ema) and PE every day. Right now it's more of a summer camp atmosphere and in September she will begin Pre-K curriculum.
