Not too much to report. I only received a couple of brief e-mails from Jen today. She's very busy and Internet access is limited.
She did write that she's in Hambantota now and had a very hectic day. She's tired after four hours on the road and a long day visiting CCF programs. She said that the president even fell asleep during the ride back to the hotel.
She saw a 10-foot python on the side of the road. Actually, villagers had caught it and tied the snake to a tree. Jen's group stopped to take a look. I was told to tell Ema that story.
There's a lot of military and police at Jen's hotel this evening because a government minister, who is also the brother of Sri Lanka's president, was eating there. During dinner, Jen wrote that a calypso band sang John Denver's "Country Roads" to the group. It made her laugh.
Overall, she loves being by the coast and on the beach. The scenery keeps getting more and more beautiful. I truly believe she's enjoying herself. She's not ready to come home yet, even though she misses everyone here. Jen is making the most of this fabulous adventure.
